Electrical Muscle Stimulation Therapy

Electrical muscle stimulation therapy is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses. The impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin near the muscles being stimulated. It is used for the following uses: relaxation of muscle spasms, prevention of muscle atrophy, increasing local blood circulation and increasing range of motion.
