Hot/Cold Therapy

Heat Therapy- also called thermotherapy, is the use of moist heat pads to injured areas for increasing the extensibility of collagen tissues; decreasing joint stiffness; reducing pain; relieving muscle spasms; reducing inflammation, edema, and aids in the post-acute phase of healing; and increasing blood flow. The increased blood flow to the affected area provides proteins, nutrients, and oxygen for better healing.

Cold Therapy- also called cryotherapy, is the use of ice packs or cold gel packs to injured areas for relief of muscle & joint pain, sprains/strains and inflammation or swelling of soft tissue.
